BabbleStash is the Anti-Selfie

What is a selfie? According to Merriam-Webster's definition, a selfie is, "an image of oneself taken by oneself using a digital camera especially for posting on social networks." While this definition sounds quite innocuous, there is a deeper meaning to people who post a lot of selfies. Another component of a selfie is that they are "usually flattering and made to appear casual." It's the issue of flattering and appearance of casual that makes the selfie so fundamentally superficial and a true anathema to our society.

A babble recorded in BabbleStash is of an individual verbally sharing their thoughts, feelings and memories. The only way babbles and selfies are similar is the documenting (image or voice) of the individual and the capability of it being shared on social media.

Since a babble is audio, the most superficial elements of a selfie are eliminated, it is not staged and therefore people do not try to fake appearing casual. It is in this way that the babbles of BabbleStash are truly the opposite of a selfie and can be seen as the ultimate anti-selfie!
